Fairtrade International’s General Assembly 2018 was held at Costa Rica recently. Representatives from America, Canada, Asia, Africa, Europe Australia, Latin America and the Caribbean participated in this international conference. At the meeting, it was decided to extend Fairtrade programmes prevalent in developed countries to developing countries where better living standards for farmers and workers need to be ensured through fairtrade. Bijumon Kurian from Kerala, who represented the Network of Asia Pacific Producers (NAPP), was elected to the prestigious Fairtrade International Board.

Earth builder camp for teenagers started at Plantrich Organic Experience Centre. Participants enjoyed the fun-wrapped training programme which taught them about organic farming and cycling.
