1. How biofertilizers can be made use of in home stead farming?
3 to 4 types of bio fertilisers are necessary for any crop. These can be mixed with F Y M @1:25sprinkling water, kept over night and applied in the base of plants 3 to4 times a year.adding about 1 kg of Neem cake in the mix.
Biofertilisers required for single application

Mix with 500 gms, FYM , 50 gms of NeemCake, Sprinkle water, keep overnight and, apply next day.
- this will be applicable to vegetables, banana, ornamentals, coconut, arecanut, cocoa, rubber etc. - organic manures shall be applied abundantly. - apply biofertilisers in moist soil conditions.
2. How can insect pests be controlled without going for chemical pesticide use?

3. What is the way out for plant disease management in organic farming?
Any plant disease like leafspot, yellowing, bud rot, rhizome rot, mildew, sheath belight, blast, belight, bacterial infections can be controlled effectively by spraying/drenching.
Biotris powder @ 20 gms/litre of water Or Biotris rich @ 5Ml/litre of water.
Spaying /Drenching shall be repeated.
Use of Biotis will give phytotonic effect(green colouration and lustering to foliage)
Soil born fungus dieases such as rot decay, quickwilt, rhizome rot, damping off, nursery diseases, wilting of young seedlings etc can be controlled by applying mycocide in root zone @ 10gms per litre Spraying&drenching would be necessary.Direct application @ 5 to 30gms/per plant mixing with FYM and neemcake is also advocated.

4. How pink disease in Rubber can be controlled?
Pre-monsoon spraying with boardeaux mixture is recommended as a prophy lactic measure.Pasting of affected bark portions and jorketing of tees with fungicide is the curative measure suggested, which can be practiced as follows.

5. How flower shedding and fruit fall can be prevented in vegetables?
Use of hormones may help to tide over the phenomenon of flower shedding premature fruitfall. Spray Bioton @ 3 ml per litre of water on the foliage ,first by 2 weeks before flowering, then after 25 days of first spray and again after 25 days,in vegetables. This will help to increase yield considerably. Plantozyme is also a hormone intended for this purpose which is a plant growth regulator as well. It can be sprayed on foliage at critical stages of plant growth @ 2ml per litre of water(200ml/acre). Paddy, vegetables, pepper, cocoa, fruit plants etc. can be sprayed with plantozyme atleast twice for flower induction and growth promotion.
6. Organic fertilizers containing humic acid are now available in market. Is it an essential input and if so indicate use pattern?
Humic acid is the end product of biological decomposition of any living organism. Several products containing humic acid from 1.5% to 70% are now available in granular or liquid forms. Humaid granules is the one with 70% humic substances and containing major, minor plant nutrients and trace elements. Humaid granules can be applied along with organic manures, biofertilisers or even chemical fertilizers. Dose will vary from 20gms to 50 gms per application in the case of single plants and 2.5 kg to 5 kg/acre in the case of cereals, tuber crops, pulse crops, pine apple, ginger etc. Humaid rich can be sprayed on foliage @ 5Ml pr litre of water, once a month for enhancing growth. Humaid is suitable in biofarming and conventionl cropping system and is beneficial for all crops.
