White Pepper

Organic White Pepper or Piper nigrum is a hotter and milder version of pepper berries, obtained when the softened dark outer part of pericarp of fully ripe black pepper is removed.

A widely exported spice from the house of Plantrich, the Organic White Pepper is processed by soaking picked organic pepper berries in water for a fortnight, leading to fermentation. Then the skins are removed after washing, rubbing or trampling in hygienic conditions. The removed skin tones down the hot piperine compound, removes volatile oils and gives the spice a peculiar aroma and flavour very different from Organic Black Pepper.

The careful processing at Plantrich units lends Organic White Pepper an earthy, winey or grassy flavour, and is hence a popular ingredient in white-coloured dishes like sauces, pastas, salads and seafood in Asian, Mexican and Indian cuisine. It’s also used in Continental dishes like soups, mayonnaise and casseroles.

Plantrich Organic White Pepper, for its less pungent flavour and slightly variant heat component, is preferred in creamed soups, mashed potatoes, casseroles, pies, marinades, stews and sauces. Due to its slightly subtle flavour, Plantrich Organic White Pepper tends to lose potency quickly. So, it’s advisable to use freshly ground White Pepper to spice up the dishes.

One of the most favoured spices worldwide, White Pepper is exported across the globe by Plantrich, the leading organic spice supplier for its health benefits too. Rich in manganese, iron, copper and magnesium, Plantrich Organic White Pepper assists weight reduction, improves heart health, eyesight and skin glow apart from strengthening bones and curing cough, digestive issues, stomach ulcers, bloating and anorexia.
